Monastery accommodation gives remarkable and peaceful experience.
Tyniec situated on the right bank of the Wisla (Vistula) river, 12-13 km off the city centre of Cracow. Hills, forest and the river makes the views really stunning. Almost 1000 years ago Benedictines arrived here and decided to built a monastery on the rock by the Vistula river.
The monastery forms few courtyards designed ad quadratum. The church was supposed to protect the monastery from the northern wind. The place is surrounded by old trees.
Unfortunately it is not possible to poke in the monastery gardens. They open only once a year, usually beginning of June and only 1 day.
The guest-house is located in the part called 'Opatówka'.
Rooms are clean, tidy and peaceful. This is part of the corridor in 'Opatowka'.
Nearby church rings the bell at 5.30 to wake up monks living in separate part of the abbey.
Monastery accommodation - silence, no crowd, amazing view to Wisła (Vistula) river cutting gently the landscape. Simply different way of spending vacation.
